help for a newbie please

I am new to Blender and been wondering how you can open more than one mesh at a time if you know where i can get some help please point me in the right direction. thanx in advance for any and all help that is rendered.

i hope this is what you are talking about

file>apend/link>[mesh you want.blend]>objects>[objects you want to add]

oh i forgot, you have to [shift]right click to slect what you want to add, or [a] for everything.
