I never forgot this post.

Perhaps the first mention of Christmas in this forum.

Christmas has a reason for being.
The birth of Him who left His Majesty back and came down to earth to walk among the fallen and dirty plebeians.

He did this not only to fulfill the prophecies, but because he loved the humanity of this world rather than the heavenly kingship itself.

In wishing merry christmas, the voter brings a great responsibility:
Be himself the bearer of the thruth tath Christ born from water and the Spirit, resurrected as the Firstborn of the dead.

And this Christmas, I declare a Christ that you may never have seen.

A Son who is not in churches or in the pages of doctrinal books.
He is alive, in the four manifestations of the Gospel.

The church announces an evil, ruthless Jesus.
But the scriptures confess a tender and compassionate Jesus.
Endowed with great power but sensitive to our daily weaknesses.

The church preaches an authoritarian Jesus, it hides the Messiah who understands us, forgives us...

Two thousand years ago...

Now the scribes and Pharisees came, with a woman who had been taken in the act of sinning against the married relation;
And putting her forward, they said to him, Master, this woman has been taken in the very act of sinning against the married relation. Now in the law Moses gave directions that such women were to be stoned; what do you say about it?
They said this, testing him, so that they might have something against him.

But Jesus, with his head bent down, made letters on the floor with his finger.
But when they went on with their questions, he got up and said to them, Let him among you who is without sin be the first to send a stone at her.
And again, with bent head, he made letters on the floor.
And when his words came to their ears, they went out one by one, starting with the oldest even to the last, because they were conscious of what was in their hearts: and Jesus was there by himself with the woman before him.

Then Jesus got up, and seeing nobody but the woman, he said to her, Where are the men who said things against you? did no one give a decision against you?
And she said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said, And I do not give a decision against you: go, and never do wrong again.

Then again Jesus said to them, I am the light of the world; he who comes with me will not be walking in the dark but will have the light of life.

John 8:3-12

The scribes and Pharisees were not lying. The Law of Moses determines stoning.
Jesus, as a faithful Jew, should have allowed the fulfillment of the law, but did not follow the Mosaic Law.

Tomorrow or later, you might catch yourself, cursing someone (my case), offending your father, ignoring the lack of affection of your children, hating your job, feeling fear because of the skin color of this or that, killing innocent in schools, cursing those who walk disorderly, or those who struggle to walk according by the benign of will of God, etc..

The human race should be stoned, not by his own neighbor, but by God.
He gave to us intelligence, feelings, reasoning and love! We are automatons!
But we use the gift of independence to offend others, be it through by our fails, or by machining our own will.

If God destroyed this world, He would destroy everything, not armed with stones, but armed with reason.

Deliberate acts to expose us to dangerous risks, is suicide.
But this Jesus, born among us, came to prevent the suicide of the human race.

Yes, my friends!
he did not allow the stoning.

By doing this, Jesus, the Christ, revealed two things:

A) He announced the fallibility and the horror of religious radicalism, pointed his finger at the Temple leaders :
These religious placed heavy burdens on the people, but they themselves did not meet even half of the half .
Oppressing the people with their laws, stealing money using long and repetitious prayers in the homes of the needy.

B) And that, in place of that adulterous woman could be me, or a loved one, or yourself.

He knows that the perfection is far from us!
Who has never failed ... Raise your hand, please.
Who regretted having done, or have never done, either this or that .... Raise your hand, too.

No one can deny: There is no human 100% perfect before men.
In reality, all of us, our relatives, Hollywood stars, ecclesiastics, politicians, gays, beggars,
drug addicts, atheists, charitable citizens, doctors, husbands, children and women...

The world wants to stone each of these.
There is a Christ with the mission to save, at least, the soul that is within us.

The church does not accept fallible individuals.
But the Christ out of the church, The Living Jesus, is working tirelessly in our favor.

He said:
I am the way, the truth, and the life: No one comes to the Father except through me
John 14:6

Yes, someone is on our side!
This Jesus, recorded in the Gospels, is betting that we will have
the sincere willingness to follow Him and practice His teachings.

Follow the will of Jesus Christ, is not to bring about yourself the self annulment,
is allow the transformation happen naturally.
And walking with the Son of God, through the four Gospels, you will realize many things about you,
and the world that surrounds you.

There is a resurrection reserved for us!
Yes, I invite you to be part of the real reason of Christmas.
I invite you to begin a journey by the Road, by the living the Truth,
to achieve the greatest promise of God's Son: The Life, Eternal Life.

I wish to see you and your family in the consummation of the resurrection.

Christ is betting on us!
It's time to we bet on Christ!

From your friend, Raul.
