Enterprise D interiors

Postby Dirk Digler » Thu May 08, 2008 10:49 am

Hello everyone! I'm trying to make my own little fan Star Trek TNG mesh episode so if anyone have any interiors to spare it would help me a great deal. I need: corridors, conference room, Riker's quarters, Picard's office, teleportation room.
I know that I'm asking for a lot and that I'll probably won't find it but it doesn't hurt to ask.

those are going to be hard to find
here is a poser corridor
http://www.sharecg.com/v/23817/poser/TNG-Hallway-Prop
if you have blender find a .nif format importer
and you can import bridge commander bridges
available at
http://www.bcfiles.com

there was a transpoter room mesh posted on the forums here a while back back it seems to be gone now
and it was also posted at the old lwg3 forum but that is also gone now

there are no confrence room meshes out and available
there are no quarters meshes out and available

Thaknk you, andp, on links, especially corridor.
I guess I could do whiteout transporter room but I would really like to find Ten Forward and Troi quarters. I see that some people are making their ST mesh episodes, but how can they make one whiteout Ten Forward, that has got to be somewhere.

whats a mesh episode?

when ever you see a ten forward in a fan film its usually background images found on the internet
not meshes,
and if they are meshes they got the mesh by building it, or asking someone, not in public eye of the internet
for one
there are absolutely no meshes of ten forward or of any sorta quarters, with in the TNG era
there are some TOS era things available but that not what you are looking for
and trust me when i say this cause i have searched the internet for these things,
and have checked many different websites and forums,
i hate to say this but
use google
if you dont trust my word and try to find some

OK, I believe you andyp. I also saw allover internet that people are trying to make their own Star Trek and other SF episodes. Paramount could make a software called "Star Trek Maker" in which they would provide people with characters and backgrounds for doing their own ST series.
Do you think that there will be more available meshes if that game StarTrekOnline ever comes to life?

there are always possibilities
most of the time when people make meshes of interiors they dont release them
and there is no for sure possibility that ST:O will release the base meshes for there models
most games dont do that
hell i just found a BC to blender import a few weeks ago that allows me to import the meshes from the game,
but not the textures, and i'm still not sure if i'm even allowed to re release them in the blender format

I actually found a lot of Star Trek stuff but for Sims 2 Package Editor Is there a way to convert them into regular 3D files?

thats a game format,

FYI
just because you find a game format model doesn't mean you can always convert it.
for example if you could convert any format you could just get stuff from elite force

whats the format that it is in,
the extension
where did you find these files
and what program are you using

also i am curious do you have the url for these sims 2 models because all i find is crap
dealing with star trek and sims 2

the sims package editor is not a 3d format,
it is the way that the sims game compresses the files for the game

Dude, there's a lot of furniture there and other Star Trek stuff. I see that you also found the links (modthesims2.com). Extension is .package and if I could convert them it would be very useful.

if its the furniture, and consoles that you are looking for
then i suggest downloading the Olympus bridge mesh thats on this site,
it has the consoles and chairs
as far as the warp core there is one also on this site as the enterprise engineering
also there is a promethus class bridge available in a poser format
http://www.xcalpro.com/

there are star trek props available at
http://www.3dgladiators.com/

if
its sets like what i posted in the images that you want
all you have to do is make some planes and put textures on them
how ever

i HIGHLY recommend that you do not use these sim2 sets
for any sort of fan film because you might get laughed at
for the level of desperation

if you want something better than the sims2 backgrounds try searching for some images for blue screening your actors in
http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/
or
http://www.trekcore.com
these sites have a ton of images of sets and screen caps, where with basic photoshop skills
you can remove the actors, and have blank images!

otherwise you could take these and use them as references to make your own mesh
with everything you need.

if you are willing to pay
there are some extremely low detailed sets in the poser format at
http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/
but they are extremely low detailed, as in none at all but better than sims2 and extremely high price

also another suggestion that i can make, for a bridge
is to download blender
get the .nif format importer
and then at bcfiles.com download the generations bridge model,
and import it into blender using the .nif format importer
but you'll need to manually add the textures
and lighting
which would require basic blender skills!

and if you feel that they are not as detailed as you want,
you can cannibalize meshes from the before mentioned Olympus bridge!

This is basically as far as we can go, cause we have basically covered every angle of a topic that has been basically started three times in the past week, and even more so going further into the forums past

good luck and goodnight

Ok dude, I'll check those links out. But let me just tell you that you didn't quite get me. I'm not trying to make TNG episode with real human actors, but with meshes. I guess you know what machinima is? So using Sims 2 stuff wouldn't be so bad in my case. I don't really care what people will say I'm just doing this for my own self, my own soul if you like.

And also I have main bridge but I would need tables and chairs to build Ten Froward set, and beds for quarters/sickbay and personal computers for Picard's office.

Hey, andyp, do you maybe have observation longue in some form, it doesn't have to be finished or textured but if it has walls it's fine.

if you mean 10 forward
there are none that i know of that have been released to the public, for free
there is a version of voyager's mess hall available at vanishing point, but its not free

other wise the only other one i can think of would be the one being created by rduda
but its not out yet, and its in daz format
he has a thread on scifi meshes, and daz studio

then if you talk to the people at http://www.startrek-thewayback.de/ has some in blender format, most that they managed to create a mesh out of the .map files from elite force 2
but they dont have them free to download on their site and the lighting is awful on the sets

if its the confrence room, the only ones i know of would be the one from rduda, seanr, and then the one from the upcoming excalibur game
oh and of course my confrence room, but thats not available anywhere
