HELP

Hi,
I Downloaded the Prometheus mesh from trekmeshes and seeing how I'm new to max, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

First, could you tell me how to insert the jpeg files that come with it into the mesh?
And second, can you tell me how to edit the mesh?
Though these questions may sound silly, I am new to max and would appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi trekie, first off the jpg's or any other texture maps need to been in a Max Folder.

Look in the menu for "customize" and select "configure user paths"
Next Tab you can set the "external files" click on add to add your texture directories. Then the program will find them itself.

If that doesn't work for some reason you will have to assing them manualy from the material editor (press M)

If want to edit the mesh there a several thing you can do. But most important "DONT MAKE IT OFF LIKE ITS YOUR WORK"
Always credit the origional creator if you plan to post it somewhere. (see added document for details)

The prometheus models is grouped, so to edit you must first "open" the group or "ungroup" from the "group" menu.
