Soverign Class ship graphic requested
Hello,
If there is anyone who has some time and is able to I would really love a picture of a Soverign Class Ship for a Star Trek Simulation I run:
http://ships.independencefleet.com/Wash ... main/index
If I could have something with the dimensions1028x235px that would be ideal. Additionally it would be nice, but not essential to have the name and registry displayed on the ship:
USS WASHINGTON
NCC-11998-B
Many Thanks

Hello, Aimsley.
(You came from the USS Victory?)
your request will take a while to be served.
I have a Sovereign class here, authored by Paul Trenkler.
I tried renaming the ship, but the numbers and letters are part of the hull, they are not applied decals over the hull.
Not impossible, but you will wait for a long time.
Can you wait a while?

I am not from the Victory, but someone who is reccommended I come here.
I can wait and would be very very grateful for any help I can get from anyone. I just don't have the skill to do it myself unfortunately.

Yes, yes, Chainsaw!
It would help me greatly!
but as you know, it would be interesting if the identification could be applied using the Conform modifier.
You can?

For some reason i can not weld vertices without messing up the textureing. The mesh as the texture coördinates backed in and if i move vertices the texture bends with the changes i make.

Well, in my attempt to restore the mesh, I was using the Bridge feature in Edit Poly (sub-level Edge).
This mesh is all complicated ...

Re: Soverign Class ship graphic requested
Interresting technique. I'll give that a try. But the mesh is really messy on the welds and the inset of the letters is slightly out of place. It looks like the convertion is done by material and has welded the mesh in some places. I have sorted out most normal, edges and smoothing bugs. I can make the lettering the same color and not weld it. Then a new mesh for the text can be applied.

Deleted all the text and put new faces in. It worked perfect.

2009, damn i'm using 2012. I can only revert back to 2010. 3ds then? Unfortunaly you wouldn't be able to benifit from the meshsmooth fixes.
BTW did you notice there is a small shuttlecraft in the mesh???

If you can export to obj and 3ds is already a big help.
