Various STO meshes

Postby Serin » Sun Sep 22, 2013 12:14 am

Hey guys n gals,

I've been working away at building a 3d printer as of late and I wanted to print a few Federation ships somewhere along the line, so I figured I'd look into pulling the models directly from the game, which is surprisingly easy..
There is some weirdness due to 3ds max 2014 not liking the .obj files, but I think most of them are fine.

So for those interested....

Ships I've captured are:
-Advanced Escort (aka Proemtheus class with a few modifications)
-The Chimera heavy prototype destroyer (named Amber in the files)
-Aventine Class
-Luna class
-Wells class temporal science ship (Voyager 'Relativity')
-Mobius class temporal destroyer
-Odyssey class
-Sau Paulo class
And there's a file in there named 'random ships', it's just a capture of a heap of random player ships orbiting Earth spacedock.
There are both .max and .obj available, and I'm happy to bounce down any others that 3ds max can bounce, just let me know.

Hello Serin,

Although a nice effort i don't think they can be hosted here due to copyright issues. But they could be used as a reference to create your own version.

Mmm, figured as much.
They'll be in my public skydrive anyway as I'll be keeping a backup there anyway, so anyone here can grab them if they wish, if that's ok with admin.

Thanks for sharing Serin!
Do you have the Klingons converted too? If so... Could you, please, share them too? In advance, a BIG thank you!

Thanks, Serin!

Surely this material will bring a lot of inspiration for our work.

Hey guys,

Slight update!
Every single one of the models I've pulled is now up on thingiverse.

There's a few other series' in there as well if anyones interested :)
Just sharing the love.

Unfortunately I don't have a Klingon character in game, and as it is, it's kinda difficult to capture other peoples ships accurately.

great models, I've been looking everywhere for a luna class and Aventine class in obj so thanks! Will you be converting any of your other meshs to obj? I really liked the Odyssey class and Armitage class.

The models can be easily changed to .obj in basically every decent 3d modelling program :)
They originally came from that format, so they shouldn't be that different.
