Hi all, I've just finished converting Dave Metlesits Axanar USS Ares and Klingon D6 to Lightwave, which he said is fine to distribute, if you would like to have them here you can grab them from here:

I've also nearly finished converting Spencers Enterprise A to Lightwave as well, just need to fix a couple of small mesh errors, I'll also see how the export as an OBJ file works out if it doesn't have the same type of errors the original one has I can send that over as well

Cheers

Billy

I'll do my best to export them out as OBJ, then upload them, I'll let you know when they're online

What program do you use if you don't mind my asking, I may be able to do a program specific conversion for you

thats great
would you be able to ask Dave if he'd allow you to convert his "VESTA-CLASS" ?
i did ask him last year , and he said he would email it to me , but never did
i think that would look nice in a new trailer-movie
and its hosted here on S.T.M.C. too.

I don't see why not, I'll grab it and see how it goes, I'm not having much luck with the collada DAE, it saves out ok, but you'll have to re-assign all the textures, I'm trying in in C4D as well, to see if that exports any better, I'll keep trying

yes thats ok , billy
reassigning the textures seems to be standard practice for dae collada files.
Only convert the model if its not to difficult for you
cause sometimes it can all get extremely complicated .

The Klingon D6 is the main enemy ship in Axanar, the reason the Ares class is built is because the D6 is so much stronger in combat than the Fed ships, the Ares is made to even things up. Take a look on YouTube for 'Prelude to Axanar', it's a kind of documentry style short movie, well worth watching.
